Snefru-256 is a cryptographic hash function that takes an input and produces a message digest of 256-bit which is equivalent to 32 bytes. Ralph Merkle invented Snefru in 1990 while working at Xerox PARC.
Following in the footsteps of the Khufu and Khafre block ciphers, it was named after the Egyptian Pharaoh Sneferu. Snefru-256 hash is composed of 64 hexadecimal characters.
