RIPEMD-160 is a cryptographic hash function that takes an input and produces a message digest of 160-bit which is equivalent to 20 bytes. RIPEMD-160 is part of the RIPEMD family of cryptographic hashes. RIPEMD was designed by Hans Dobbertin, Antoon Bosselaers, and Bart Preneel and was first published in year 1992.
RIPEMD-160 hash is composed of 40 hexadecimal characters. It is most often used to verify whether a file is tempered in any form or manner while transmitting from one point to another. The verification is done by comparing the checksum before and after transmission of the file.
Calculating the RIPEMD-160 hash of a string is not something that one can be done manually because hashing a string is a very complex and tedious process. That is where our online RIPEMD-160 hash generator tool comes into play.
We have so many methods and tools available to calculate the RIPEMD-160 hash of a string, but not every online tool gives an accurate result and that is why we have created this online RIPEMD-160 Hash Generator tool. It is a very simple and easy-to-use tool. Most important thing is that it is beginner-friendly.
